Juneau Projects deliver their fourth and final performance of The Infocalypse Stack at Ceri Hand Gallery. Utilising home made instruments and mini robots alongside spoken word it opened up the keys themes of the exhibition, a possible future inhabited by a small band of survivors of the information apocalypse…

Produced by Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy, on first listen this is classic Low; brooding and melancholic. Yet there’s a little more - or better, less - to this new record based on ‘Just Make it Stop’. Stark piano drives the melody, and brushed drums accompany the familiar warmth of guitar. Mimi Parker’s vocals lead the tune resolutely, but her lyrics loop around phrases of heartbreak and inevitable decline. Perhaps this album’s about counterpoint. About silent protest or rejoicing in sadness. This first single suggests something like that., I’m certainly excited about this new release.
